A free health camp was organised on 24th November 2019, where Dr Pratip Banerji was present along with his team to provide free consultation and free medicine to hundreds of people. This initiative was a collaboration with The Kanak Prabha Memorial Charitable Centre (KPMCC).
Hon'ble Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister of Power, Govt. of West Bengal inaugurated this health camp.
Dr Pratip Banerji runs two clinics in the city. Elgin road clinic gets a foot fall of 1000 to 1200 patients per day. A team of doctors trained under Dr. Banerji assist him to see this large number of patients. This clinic also has a free clinic for the underprivileged. The South End Park clinic caters to patients with prior appointment only and for documented cases of cancer that need more number of consultation with the doctor. Due to large turnout of patients in both the clinics we have to refuse many patients who come to us on daily basis for treatment.
This health camp was organised keeping in mind the patients who are unable to reach and meet Dr Pratip Banerji.
We cannot offer consultation to hundreds of patients regularly due to lack of time. Yet they keep coming back in good faith, braving rain, cold and heat, waiting on the pavements to meet the doctor. This health camp was one step towards helping such patients.
